  2. Discuss The Federalist Papers quotes and comments.   Focus on the ideas set out by Hamilton, Madison, and Jay in their letters that highlight the importance of ratifying the Constitution. Packet due in your notebook at end of quarter for a grade 
  3. Assign 100 word response to one of the Federalist Paper quotes due tomorrow

Wed. Feb. 15, 2006

  1. “We the People”  Play school house rock students must have this memorized by next Friday.
  2. Assign the Preamble project due next Wednesday Feb. 22 
  3. Read Pages 65-70 defining the six principles of the Constitution, drawing a visual for each.
  4. Check understanding by playing the 6 principles of government game.  Have six people hold up the signs of each and then hand out the characteristics of each.  Give each student one to look up in the book.  First place gets 5 points, second gets 3 and third gets 1.  Rounds 1-3 are practice and may talk, rounds 4-5 no talking and counts.  The winning team gets candy.

3. Hand out packet on the Constitution.

4. Read the Constitution answering questions on key concepts of this document.  Copies of the packet are on my other government website click the link from this homepage http://dhsvideo.tripod.com

 

Friday Feb. 17

1. continue working on the packet.

 

Tuesday and Wed. Feb. 21-22

1. discuss current event constitutional issues

2. work on and complete by Wed. reading the Constitution and answering all of the questions in the Constitution packet,

3. turn in packet for 75 points

 

Thursday and Friday feb. 23-24

1. preamble presentations 50 point

 

Monday Feb. 27

1. complete presentations

2. hand out project requirements

3. Go to lab and begin project research, requirements to be found on my webpage under unit 2
